Transfers

14490.1 Policy Statement

In accordance with Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) Element 10.7:

"A medical school ensures that any student accepted for transfer or admission with advanced standing demonstrates academic achievements, completion of relevant prior coursework, and other relevant characteristics comparable to those of the medical students in the class that he or she would join. A medical school accepts a transfer medical student into the final year of a medical education program only in rare and extraordinary personal or educational circumstances."

This policy explains how medical students can transfer into or out of the Wright State University (WSU) Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM).

14490.2 Transferring In

BSOM does not accept students to transfer into the MD program.

14490.3 Transferring Out

BSOM students who wish to transfer to another medical school may request that a letter of good standing and a copy of their official transcript be forwarded to the school(s) to which they are applying. These items can be obtained by contacting the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions.

A Wright State student who accepts a transfer offer from another medical school must submit an official appeal to withdraw, in writing, to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Admissions at BSOM.
